Building Security Council Names Wood as New EVP

April 21, 2008, Reston, Va.—The Building Security Council (BSC) announced today that it has selected Britt Wood as its new executive vice president. In his new role, Mr. Wood will be responsible for BSC’s day-to-day operations, supporting the BSC Board of Directors and acting as liaison to the ASCE Board of Direction. He will also direct BSC's personnel certification, continuing education and building security rating programs.
“We are excited to welcome Britt to BSC,” stated Martin Denholm, President of BSC. “Britt brings a great background in not-for-profit management, as well as experience in the security sector. We are looking forward to Britt elevating BSC’s programs and taking the organization to new heights.”
Mr. Wood brings a portfolio of diversified and in-depth association management experience to BSC. Immediately prior to joining BSC, he served as president of the Loss Prevention Foundation (LPF) in Centreville, VA. He was recruited by LPF’s founders to establish a not-for-profit association to serve the retail loss prevention profession. While at LPF, he and his team developed a multi-level certification program, as well as a membership program for retail loss prevention professionals. Prior to his time at LPF, Mr. Wood was Senior Vice President, Industry Relations for the Retail Industry Leaders Association. Mr. Wood holds a B.A. in history from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in Blacksburg and an MBA from the College of William and Mary.
