About BSCP
The BSC has set out to design, administer, and maintain a personnel certification program that enables the individuals who become certified to assist building owners to evaluate and improve the security of their facilities. To date over 50 individuals have earned their BSCP. To view a list of these professionals please click here.
Building security professionals can voluntarily apply for certification as a BSCP (Building Security Certified Professional). BSCP certification designates licensed design professionals (architects, landscape architects, and engineers), Physical Security Professionals (PSP), and Certified Protection Professionals (CPP) who demonstrate, by means of a detailed application and written examination, knowledge and understanding of the multidisciplinary security considerations that are relevant to the integrated planning, design, construction, operation, and evaluation of buildings, as identified by the BSC PLUS Rating System. BSC certification requires adherence to a Code of Ethics modeled after that of the professional societies, including the performance of services only in areas of the professional's competence.
To achieve certification, candidates must pass a 100-question multiple-choice examination. For more information about earning a BSCP please download our BSCP Candidate Guide.
